Rod Catterall and Associates have been in operation since 1991. The highly qualified team of training associates all have a great deal of experience presenting to organisations within Australia on issues pertaining to supporting & responding to distress/ trauma, management in challenging behaviours, such as non compliance, vocalizing loudly, attention seeking, absconding, disruptive, obsessive/compulsive behaviour or individuals acting aggressive or violently towards others such as biting, throwing objects, scratching, kicking, hitting, pushing, grabbing or any form of indecent physical contact. All training can be run in house for small groups of 20 staff Australia wide.
We are able to provide you with an extensive range of training, both through in service training, induction training, client specific training and public workshops. The training can be individualised or integrated for a specific person.

Our trainers have extensive training and are all qualified facilitators. Our trainers regularly attend professional development workshops from Eastern Health on, Functional Behaviour Assessment, Effects of Trauma in Children & Young People, Psychosis Explored, Reflective Practice for Coaches by Sam Magill Consulting, Stress Management by Occupational Services, Baton & Handcuffs & Custody Management Training. Staff are qualified Defensive Tactics Instructors with RCA, Cert IV Qualified Workplace Training & Assessment and all have police clearance checks.
RCA provides staff workshops Australia wide. Our workshops can be run inhouse or you can attend one our or regular Staff Professional Development Workshops run every quarter on Bullying & Challenging Behaviours, Functional Behaviour Support Training & Ethical Response Safety Training.
RCA delivers training to a range of occupational settings. We have designed specific training packages to meet the needs of OSP Office of Senior Practitioner & Department of Human Service in disability. We have also achieved the same result with mental health, aged care, education, child welfare and justice sectors too.
RCA maintains a person centred approach to positive behaviour support & best practice. Our training packages are consistent with Department of Human Services - Code of Practice Prevention & Management of Violence, Worksafe Victoria Guidelines on Occupational Violence, Worksafe Guide to Challenging Behaviour Risk Prevention in Specialists Schools, Office of Senior Practitioners Compliance of Restrictive Interventions, Department of Education, Early Childhood Development (DEECD), Cert II/III Security Operations, Control of Persons Using Batons & Defensive Tactics Instructors Training Course for Vic Police.
